"Khunya in thai means "grandmother", "Khunya Thai Kitchen symbolizes Grandmother's Thai-Style Private Kitchen." The brand represents the founder, Chef Teera, as a tribute to her grandmother, who taught Teera the art of home-cooking culinary.

Teera's grandmother was her cooking mentor since childhood, Teera was always taught at her grandmother's kitchen bit by bit which requires her to learn how to chop woods for fire, controling the heat for various dishes, and all the different spices which makes those extra-ordinary tastes we are familiar with Thai specialty cuisine around the world.

"When I was young, I complained about the hard work because my grandmother was strict with standards. Ingredients had to be freshly picked and cooked, every spices that goes into the dish, especially the chillis must be finely prepared. I only realized this was a form of training by my grandmother later on.

Teera is Khunya Thai Kitchen's head chef and the heart and soul of every finely crafted dish in the menu. she is very optimistic and humble who also loves to exchange ideas and improve her culinary skills with other fellow chefs of all backgrounds, she holds a Thai Chef qualification certification recognized by the Thai Government. She was apprenticed under the Palace Chefs in Thailand and participated in many Thai culinary competitions. These valuable experiences had greatly shaped Khunya Thai's recipe and still improving today.
